Introduction to Engineering Drawings
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) is a common manufacturing language which describes the geometry of a part and the allowable tolerance for variation. When applied properly the design engineer can precisely define a features location, size, shape and orientation on the part. GD&T also guarantees manufacturing, quality and suppliers can properly interpret the design intent and apply the tolerance in order to produce and measure the part using the lowest cost process. This workshop is designed for design engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality professionals, production staff and anyone with a basic ability to read engineering drawings.
Statistical Process Control and Measurement System Analysis
(SPC) Statistical Process Control is the use of statistical techniques such as control charts to analyze a process or its output so as to take appropriate actions to achieve and maintain a state of statistical control and to improve the process capability. Apply statistics to understand current process performance, future performance entitlement and solve process problems. Participants will learn how to plan and implement Process Capability Studies and interpret the results. We will cover Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk and learn about sample size and frequency. Participants will also create and analyze a Measurement System as per AIAG standards. This workshop requires basic math skills, spreadsheet experience and a laptop loaded with Minitab. A 30 day free trial is included with the course.
Statistical Process Control for the Shop Floor
(SPC) Statistical Process Control is the use of statistical techniques such as control charts to analyze a process or its output so as to take appropriate actions to achieve and maintain a state of statistical control and to improve the process capability.
In this 2 hour class participants will be introduced to Variation and Statistical Concepts. Hands-on exercises will explain Variation and the Normal Distribution Curve and an Introduction to Histograms. Participants will chart process behavior with pencil and paper and receive an introduction to Control Charts, AIAG In Control vs. Out of Control Rules and Trends, Special Cause and Normal Variation.
We will also cover an introduction to Capability Studies and measurement uncertainty. Topics will include the Operators role, sample size, terminology (Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk – What they mean and how they are used).
